Dr. Brittni Poster

My approach to therapy is non-judgmental, empathic, and candid, with humoristic relief. I firmly believe therapy isn't changing you if it isn't challenging you. I strive to build a solid therapeutic relationship and supportive foundation to safely explore uncomfortable thoughts and feelings and promote a greater understanding of self and others.

About

Offering Individual Psychotherapy and Assessment

My areas of expertise include personality functioning, relationships, parental mental health, and mental health for first responders. My approach is integrative, emphasizing psychodynamic modalities with DBT/CBT techniques when appropriate. I obtained my Ph.D. at The New School in NYC. My training experiences included the Center for Intensive Treatment of Personality Disorders, Mount Sinai, and Nassau University Medical Center. Prior to private practice, I was employed for nearly a decade as a clinical & forensic psychologist for the New York Police Department and the U.S. Department of Justice.
